Muse Maidens

As a self-taught artist, inspired by intense dreams of fairy creatures in which they asked me to make art of them, my work ranges from the whimsical to the macabre to the purely beautiful. I like to create images of my visions and dreams. In a sense, I feel I am creating my own reality through my art. I began this artistic journey by dressing up friends and siblings in costumes and taking pictures of them in order re-create my visions. Whatever I couldn’t accomplish with make up and costumes, I accomplished with PhotoShop. This led to my passion for digital art. During my work transforming friends and family into mystical creatures I realized my art had another purpose: to show others how beautiful, amazing, and multi-faceted they really are. I feel that digital art gives me the depth I need to create this multi-faceted dimension. The desire to allow others to see themselves through an artist’s eye is one shared with photographer Mina Bast. Although I still do independent projects, my art is largely based on my partnership with Mina. She photographs people (capturing their beauty and personality) and I digitally manipulate the pictures in order to bring out the magical, mystical creatures that exist in each one of us. The transformation even blows me away at times. The feeling this gives me fills my heart completely. I am always excited to show people their mystic equivalent.
